The hope is that what is meant by being unable to grip the ball normally is that he can still grip the ball well but just not at 100 percent. Like someone saying a player is not at full speed and can't run a 4.3 40-yard dash but he could run 4.4. If this is not the case, this could be a looming big problem for Mariota and the Titans for some time to come. If he plays against the Texans, his accuracy should be a telltale sign. Like I said a couple days ago - could be a much bigger issue than people want to admit. This is lucky for Vrabel/Robinson though, in a way, they’ll get to use this as an excuse for taking a playoff contending team and turning it into a (potentially) losing team - if things shake out that way.
