Trump Supporters - have you noticed that they are slow in understanding

You know when you are watching a movie or TV show and you know what is going to happen next because many plots are overused and predictable.  Or you hear a joke, and before the punchline is delivered, you know what it is likely going to be.  And in those situations, you noticed there are some people who are surprised by both even when the plot or joke are very elementary, highly overused ones.  Those people have no idea what is happening and what is coming - it is like they are just perceiving stuff as it happens, with no thought or analysis of that information nor the patterns of it.

Watching some footage of Trump rallies, I have noticed that almost the whole crowd, at those rallies, is the latter.  The people on the cameras start laughing, if a joke, as if they genuinely had no idea what the punchline was going to be or if some serious comments is be said by President Trump, they look at each other, shaking their heads in affirmation delivering the message, "wow he is right, I did not think of that before, he is so smart", to each other, right after, but not before - that is key, President Trump is finished making some point about himself as if they had no idea what point he was trying to make before he actually did.  Often times, those President Trump comments are verbatim previous statements he made.  So even if the crowd does not "get it", one would think they would know just because they follow Trump and it is something he has already publicly said numerous times.

People at Trump rallies are equivalent to someone hardily laughing at the punchline to the joke, why did the chicken cross the road, as if they never heard it.

Trump voters are incredibly dimwitted, yes.

And Trump himself is not very bright

My only problem with  this is he got elected.  He does whatever he wants.  He confesses to sexual molestation, publicly.  He violates the emoluments clause, bigly.  He calls people on the US Government Domestic Terrorism List good people, Charlottesville.  He abuses the english language whenever he speaks.  The people who ran his election campaign were grossly incompetent.  He consorted/consorts with the country's #1 enemy.

Yet somehow, he holds the highest office in America.  How many people who ride the short bus could get elected POTUS?

It drives them crazy when I do this.giphy.gif

Twice he has accused me of being a Mariota excuse maker.  He does not pay attention.

Yeah, he's sort of like a robot.  Disregards evidence and goes on with his talking points on whatever topic that is.

The Trump driven echo chamber giveth and it may taketh away:

A leaked survey conducted for the Republican National Committee (RNC) found that a majority of President Trump’s supporters don’t believe that Democrats have a chance to win back the House during November’s midterm elections.

,...Fifty-seven percent of people who identified as strong Trump supporters said Democrats don’t have a chance to win big, while 37 percent believe they do, according to the poll.

A number of election forecasters project that Democrats have an excellent chance of netting more than the 23 seats they need to take over the House majority, but half of self-identified Republicans told the poll they didn’t believe in the “blue wave.”

,... “We need to make real the threat that Democrats have a good shot of winning control of Congress,” the report obtained by Bloomberg said.  The internal RNC study found complacency among GOP voters was linked to how much they trust Trump.

“While a significant part of that lack of intensity is undoubtedly due to these voters’ sentiments toward the President, it may also be partly because they don’t believe there is anything at stake in this election,” the authors write. “Put simply, they don’t believe that Democrats will win the House. (Why should they believe the same prognosticators who told them that Hillary was going to be elected President?)"

Donald Trump urged Spain to 'build the wall' – across the Sahara

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/19/donald-trump-urged-spain-to-build-the-wall-across-the-sahara

Donald Trump suggested the Spanish government tackled the Mediterranean migration crisis by emulating one of his most famous policies and building a wall across the Sahara desert, the country’s foreign minister has revealed.

According to Josep Borrell, the US president brushed off the scepticism of Spanish diplomats – who pointed out that the Sahara stretched for 3,000 miles – saying: “The Sahara border can’t be bigger than our border with Mexico.”

A similar plan in the Sahara, however, would be complicated by the fact that Spain holds only two small enclaves in north Africa – Ceuta and Melilla – and such a wall would have to be built on foreign territory.
