Dan Orlovsky breaks down Mariota in the LaFleur offense on @GMFB thursday morning

Recommended Posts

according to PK/Hutton on the Midday180, Dan Orlovsky will be doing a whole segment on GMFB on thursday morning breaking down Mariota and how he will fit into the LaFleur offense.

should be interesting viewing as Orlovsky has experience in a Shanahan offense, and will be able to give good insight the growing pains Mariota will likely experience learning/implementing the new offense.

also Orlovsky will be doing a follow up interview with the Midday180 guys on friday, where i'm sure he will be covering the Maritoa breakdown.

PK said that the long play calls, even Lefleur had to stop to read and finish the play call.  Something is seriously wrong with long play calls.  Just b/c your predecessor did it that way doesn't mean you have to do it the same way.  They're making Chip Kelly's system of pictures look like a genius with how simple it looked.

Should be a good segment. He’s broken it down a few times on various podcasts. He’s really high on Mariota and LaFleur and thinks Mariota blows up under this system.

I think it takes a year, just like it did with Matt Ryan.

Marcus throw right, Marcus throw left and Marcus run.

Time to break out the RGIII playbook!

this is certainly the concern, especially when you read all the reports about how awful the offense has looked during OTA's/Minicamp.

important to at least get the running game up and going early in the season.

First mistake is projecting what the regular season is going to look after 2 weeks of OTA's.

true, however you can pick up the odd little trend that carries throughout the season.

last year you could see in the preseason games there was something seriously wrong with the run game, which was certainly an issue through the majority of the regular season.
