The month of May posted a $147 billion dollar deficit.

For reference, 2016 (Obama’s last in office) had a $585 billion dollar deficit for the entire YEAR.

Trump is bankrupting our country and his redtard followers are lapping it up. On pace for a $1.6 trillion deficit for 2018!! Way to fuck up the economy long term.

Hear that? It’s the sound of interest rates rising again.

I’m pretty sure you alluded to the interest rates the other day. That’s where we are fucked. We can’t cut anymore taxes and if the shit hits the fan the Fed is out of maneuvers.

The Fed has some room to maneuver, but not a lot.  The current Fed discount rate charged to member banks is 2.25%.  In early 2009 during the worst of the recession it was 0.5%.

Notice a lot of republicans are staying out of this thread.

Oh, the Republicans get some blame here but at the same time are you lefties, that want to give away free goodies to anyone with their hand out (including free health care) going to really jump in on this?  Your answer isn't cutting the budget.  Your answer is taxing the crap out of people and becoming a socialist country

The GOP's answer isn't any kind of fiscal responsibility, so politely STFU when trying to point a finger at anyone "on the other side." Republicans are absolutely inept at creating and sustaining a real economy that isn't built on driving our country into further and further debt.

All Trump had to do was nothing and stay out of the way and let the economy continue to strengthen.

You really have to work hard to run up a deficit this big when the economy is growing and relatively healthy.

The economy was extremely healthy. They did it for greed and to benefit corporations plain and simple. The fed is going to have to additionally raise interest rates to regulate the short-term (and un-needed) bump, which just makes the long term crisis even worse.

It takes real negligence to fuck up the economy like they're about to do.

It's not just all the free shit they want to hand out it is the fact that after we hand out all these things there are still people who think we are a horrible unfair country.

While I know you're just spewing bullshit rhetoric, how do you account for the fact that Democrats have actually proven the ability to balance a budget and historically spend less against the deficit than Republicans?
