Which would make sense and destroy some of the narratives floating around here.

henry is just too enticing to not see what he has in this new system.

We really do have a ton of unknowns going into the season.

Yep, including Lewis... who proved he was great playing with Brady and billicheck supporting him.. but didn’t give a damn to sign him back.

Lewis could be a nice addition or he could just be the guy Brady easily found open because defenses were on their heels... also possibly a reason he got yardage up the middle. I still hold he’s a bit too small to be very effective for normal teams but maybe ok depending on everyone else.

@OILERMAN blames all the rush issues on the RB, well Lewis is the opposite of a guy who creates. He’s a reliable hands guy with excellent tiny area quickness who does well when everything else goes splendid but is too small to juke wide enough to explode for big plays.. though he may gain a couple extra yards because of it.

Henry likely gains the same amount of extra yards falling forward as Lewis does being quick.

...

True.  They re-signed Burkhead and still have White.  Kind of stupid of them considering Lewis might be the greatest RB in NFL history per some dumbass comments on this board.

Pot calling the kettle black. Your defense of Henry has been equally as ridiculous.

Unless it’s insurance for an oft-injured and pretty unproven tiny ass back in Lewis.

This is def one of the reasons they'll get another RB in the Lewis mold. I've openly said Lewis can't be trusted to handle the load.

He can contribute in a closer role as I've said but if they sign Lewis and draft another RB then what they say means nothing

Lots of teams have 3 viable backs on their roster. Injuries tend to happen to RB. If we draft a back in round 3 or later it says a lot more about their confidence in the depth behind Henry and Lewis than it does anything else.

In this day and age you have to be loaded at RB and WR. Otherwise one injury can derail everything by leaving a weakness at a spot on the field. You know the top 2 RB are gonna be used so the 3rd one has to be quality if one goes down. Same for the 3rd/4th WRs, you really need 4 starting quality WR. You're limiting your offensive attack otherwise. It would be like an MMA fighter with a hand or leg tied up/injured/weak.

No weaknesses on the field spreads defenses out and keeps them from keying on 1-2 players or one aspect of the offense (run game).
