The off-season quarterback carousel

Taylor won’t go there I don’t think.

If Taylor gets cut he will sign a team to start while they groom the QB

if he is fine with backing up someone then i say sign him! You couldn’t do better for a backup QB

the picks 21&22 plus Cordy Glenn and Tyrod Taylor package was more angled at getting the 5th pick off the Broncos, they have had previous interest in Taylor.

if they want to go all the way up to pick #2 with the Giants, it will probably take picks 21&22 plus Cordy Glenn and then their 2019 first rounder as well.

What could really shake the QB carousel up is if something falls through between the Saints and Drew Brees and Brees decides to test free agency.  He is 39 years old but he is also about 100 times the player Kirk Cousins is.

I wouldn't say that.  If you watched the Saints Redskins game last year, they looked about even.

Um no, Brees is the better player even at 39.

The new CBA better have a cap for positions.

Its making the NFL so lopsided

Itll be difficult to structure. A lot of players would get upset their position is worth “X” amount when another is worth twice.

I was talking about how stupid it is years and years ago.  Always got shot down by the "well, you can't win without a qb" see.  So, sorry qbs get paid millions of dollars and don't win shit.

JRob better draft awesome because when we pay Mariota, it's over.  We pay Lewan.  We are going to have to pay Conklin a lot of money.  We have to pay Adoree.  Each year, a new player has to get paid.  Plus your deals for Casey., Morgan.  Then you need solid players at all kinds of positions.  These players are the elite of the world and each team is paying 1/53 of the roster, 1/9 of the money, estimate.  If they are that damn good, then just get nine QBs and beat the shit out of everybody.

That's why teams like the Ravens can't win.  Joe Flacco.  Can't play.  Got paid.  Why?  He's a QB.  Bortles is a QB.  Cousins hasn't won big, but he's gonna be the highest paid player in the NFL.  Why?  He's a QB.

CTE.  Football players get hit in the head a lot.  That's why their union is horrible.  When they had the strike, these rich athletes had to get payday loans.

Remove Jacksonville from the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes (phew), it was a long shot anyway but great that he is not coming to our division and great that we will see Bortles again at least for next year.

Still a guessing game what will happen to Cousins, I'm still thinking (no particular reason) that he ends up in Minnesota with less money than the Jets throw at him.

You're an idiot. If the NBA was as big as the NFL in terms of quantity you'd get just as many broke assholes.

The union is garbage but that has absolutely nothing to do with concussions.

i dont think CTE has much to do with spending habits. I actually think it would make them more conservative there. Many of these guys get very paranoid and worried when the CTE starts kicking in.

Its much more to do with upbringing and being treated like superheroes their whole lives.

I could see NBA players being better at it because there is less players to control. More available resources per player... but any ideas that CTE would be the deciding factor is just conjecture at best.

Valid point.  I always attribute a lot of football players behavior to CTE.  Maybe it environmental, I think a lot of factors are involved.  But if you look at baseball players, you just don't see them have the troubles football players do either.  You make a good point about there being more football players and I am sure that causes them to seem like they are in more trouble situations.  But take a case like Ruben Foster's combine incident.  Here's a guy who refuses to wait his turn in line.

Rae Carruth.  Aaron Hernandez.  You could add lots of names.  Adam Jones, formerly known as Pacman.  Does the commissioner of MLB have to sweat the offseason hoping none of the players goes wild?  I just attribute it to them getting hit in the head a lot.  Has any basketball player sat on the bench and talked to the bin that holds the practice ball(kicking net)?

I am partly kidding, but something is different.

Every other one of your posts just indulges some ridiculous tangent that goes on in your head and you attempt to be so profound.

CTE being the reason that many of these players who grew up in poverty and pay for every leech that is their poverty stricken family and friends trying to live in the fast lane somehow ending up broke is honestly one if the biggest reaches I have ever seen. It honestly is a little baffling how someone can jump straight to that conclusion.

You also don't have anywhere near the environment of kids growing up playing baseball in America to "make it" like you do the NFL.

My guess is a lot of American born MLB players have a much much higher family income growing up than NFL.

The ones that come to this country also aren't hamstrung by their childhood Entourage like you see with these people going broke.

Shitty players also get top-tier non-QB contracts in the NBA.

It's a lot harder to go broke acting like a millionaire when you have a lot more money to spend. Most of these athletes are dumb as shit and have no concept of money.

But in reality I have no doubt in my mind that if you were to have 1500+ athletes in the NBA you would hear of the stupid shit constantly.
