Tomachek
Could be the perfect 3rd down compliment runningback to Henry. Can play RB, FB, TE, WR and has even thrown touchdowns. Very elusive as a runner and after the catch, thick frame but is very nimble. Would be a great weapon for the screen game. Your not going to find a better pass-catching runningback in the later rounds then Samuels. Soxcat, Stan17, Blackjack, and 2 others

Definitely one of my favorite runningbacks in the draft, he excels in the screen game which is exactly what Vrabel wants to incorporate. Bongo59
I think he is going to be drafted 25-40. I doubt he gets past NE.

charleytolar
Who was the Faulk guy that was a TD machine for the Pats 10-15 years ago? He didn't have the flat-out speed either but he had a feel for space and was very, very productive.
Tomachek
Samuels was a monster in the red zone this year 12 out of his 16 touchdowns came in the red zone. One of the biggest things with Vrabel is he wants guys that can play multiple positions, which this kid can. He's more than willing to play special teams, can split out wide on 3rd downs and has proven he can run the ball.

The comparison is that people were complaining that Samuels is not athletic enough-- the same thing that was said about Faulk... but at NE Faulk just made plays which is what Samuels seems to have a knack for. In other words: maybe he knows how to play the game.
Tomachek
Jaylen Samuels 40 - 4.54 (same as Derrick Henry, faster than dion lewis 4.57 and and ties with Sony Michael in this years draft for comparisons) 3 cone drill - 6.93 puts him in the top 5 of all runningbacks this year and compares to dion lewis 6.9 3-cone drill He also has 70 career forced missed tackles. The guy is elusive with the ball in his hands. Edited April 13, 2018 by Tomachek charleytolar
