heyitsmeallen
He’s playing wayyy better than I expected out of his first season.
SleepingTitan
I think Logan Ryan played a part in teaching these guys how to strip, contest. They're all using his technique that he learned at NE.
OzTitan
Technically it's "contested" not "contesting". The latter suggests he's top 3 at making a pass be contested, but he's actually top 3 once it already is.
Mythos27
That's interesting. My feeling was that he loses a lot passes he contests.
nine
Adoree is currently ranked #14 in the league with 12 passes defended, which has him tied with Malcom Butler (NE), Shaqill Griffin (SEA) and Jason McCourty (CLE). Byard (14 PD) is ranked #7 and Ryan (11 PD) is tied for #19. Titans and Eagles are the only teams with three players ranked in the top 20. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFL&rank=305&type=Defense
Face
Adoree had excellent ball skills coming out of school, possibly the best in the class. He was an interesting, tough evaluation. He had tremendous physical traits, great speed, even more impressive fluidity. He's so smooth. Yet he was pretty raw in coverage, but at the same time he was very advanced in other areas. He looks like a 10 year vet the way he tracks the ball & gets his head around, he's tremendous at slapping the WR's arms/hands at the perfect time to knock the ball out. And obviously he's incredible with the ball in his hands. The thought was he was going to get beat often but make huge, game changing plays. Well he's been much more solid in coverage than we thought, but he hasn't made the big plays. They'll come though. I would take him off KOR's though, just have him on PR's so he can get a few plays of offense. I have no idea why we stopped playing him on offense. He'll always have trouble against the 6'3 guys, nothing he can do about that, but on the receivers who are about 6'1 or shorter I think hes great. He has a knack for for slapping the ball out of the receivers hands without interfering. Going forward though I really think we need to put him in position to make more plays on the ball, he's so good we have to get the ball in his hands. He obviously has the traits to be a great man corner, which is as valuable as anything, but I'm not sure he wouldn't be better off in cover 2, where he can sit back & make breaks on the ball. He'd be a huge playmaker.
pat
Adoree has elite physical skills, but probably doesn't read tells as well as players with more experience at the position. He'll get better :-)
nine
To me, Adoree just has a natural and uncanny knack for knowing where the ball is going to be and the best way to defend it. If he's in position to tip or bat it away, then he does...but when he's not able to do that, he still has a knack for reaching in and either knocking it out of the receiver's hands or getting a hand or arm in there where the guy can't tuck it away cleanly. One play that IMO didn't get enough recognition was his strip of Antonio Brown. After being beaten on the quick slant, Adoree slowed AB with one arm while reaching his opposite arm around the other side to punch the ball loose...and in a single motion. It happened so quickly and smoothly, almost as if Adoree had planned the whole sequence pre-snap...like "this time I'm gonna let him catch it, then punch it free as he makes his turn." That was a seriously savvy veteran move, and it came from a kid playing in only the tenth game of his career. I remain convinced that Adoree will be a household name within the next couple years as we see more and more plays of that caliber.

I'm disappointed they stopped using him for seemingly no reason. He was very effective. I'd rather see him off special teams altogether if he can be on the field a few plays a game. nine
I would fully expect to see Adoree's "offensive weapon" role resurrected if and when the postseason starts.
