Archeluta specifically called out Mariota's accuracy for the 3rd down woes, Mariota fans are saying he sucked or it was his worst game BTW, you know you are pretty desperate when you are citing Archeluta - a guys who barely knows who is playing in the game. cenj

cenj
It's the same reason Oman always defended Fisher. If you build a conservative offense that requires perfection, then you're going to eventually blow games, especially big games. Players have bad games, or just bad plays. Injuries are part of the game. If an injury at WR to a rookie and a fumble in-game (which only resulted in 3 pts) excuse 4 quarters of offensive ineptitude, 3 ints resulting in no points, and a franchise QB in year 3 that either doesn't trust his WRs or can't find an open one, then something is wrong with how the offense is designed. big2033
We're going to keep calling out coaches and not talk about how they did everyone's bidding and tried to feed Derrick Henry? What did he do today? Who was the better back on the field?

He's still developing, he's inconsistent, and he totally blew the Walker TD pass. But he's being put in some terrible situations. The WRs this game were not getting open. The playcalling was incredibly predictable -- it was very much Fisher/McNai-esque where we'd call terrible plays 1-2 down, then ask our QB to make magic over and over again on 3rd down. We all know he's not some top-5 QB, so the coaches need to stop expecting him to be perfect to run their offense. This offense requires perfection. A turnover or some missed 3rd down conversions, and it falls apart. When you play that way offensively, you have the sort of Ravens '08 losses. Already liked the post, but gotta call this one out specifically. Totally agree. TitanDuckFan, and cenj

Dude, this isn't Fisherball, we're not watching the offense the team tried to build. We saw the offense lighting people up last year for long stretches and they lit up people at times this season. They drafted Davis and Taylor, Jonnu..... They signed Decker. Their plan was to attack down field. Mariota can barely move, Murray can barely run and Henry is inconsistent. Davis is out. Did GB lose today because their offensive game plan sucked? No
japan
This one is a little harder for Oilerman as Mariota was responsible for no turnovers. Now we we are hearing about 5 passes missed or something. Edited October 22, 2017 by japan Jamalisms, TheChosenTitan, and TitanDuckFan
Smokes
Marcus was pedestrian at best today. That's not to be unexpected do to the injury. Run game has sucked all year, Murray is at the end and Henry doesn't appear to know the pass pro, and for every tough run he makes he makes 3 soft ass runs. Teams run game leans on Marcus being mobile or a threat to be. Defense reminds me of last year, not great, but playing well enough to give the offense a shot. He had a lot of passes to Walker and Decker that were perfectly thrown but knocked away. I’m really interested to see these 5 passes that almost cost us the game. Play action more and take the easy 10 yard throws instead of getting into 3rd and long. Even a 65% accurate QB is going to be 50-50 at best on 3rd and long and that is if the protection is there and a guy gets open. And how about the perfect pass to Decker in tight coverage where Decker needs to make a play? That play puts us in FG range with plenty of time to add more yards. The pass and play to Delanie in the endzone wasn't a perfect throw but give the defender some credit there. Also, Taylor had a pass in his bread basket he dropped in tight coverage and Henry dropped an easy pass. Mariota could have thrown for 300 yards with a little help on a couple of plays. Now last I checked this isn't college but the NFL. You happily take 3 pt wins no matter who you are playing. This.
OILERMAN
The Browns didn't stack to stop the run, Shelton stopped the run while the Browns played two deep. It's the reason the offense was shut down, the same thing the Titans used to do with AH. Kirkster
