MIKE75
JRob Must Make Defense Main Priority Next Offseason...... If that includes axing Lebeau and putting him to pasture so be it. Next free agency and draft defense needs to be priority 1 not offensive line depth, another running back, new tight end, etc. The defense has been ignored way too long. When was the last time we drafted defense with our first pick? 2010 and before that 2007 Jeff Fisher and former GM Floyd Reese built a defense that helped make this team a winner the first decade or so in Tennessee. First ten years 1998---2nd rd--Samari Rolle DB 1999---1st rd---Jevon Kearse DE 1999---2nd rd--John Thornton DT 2000---1st rd--Keith Bulluck LB 2001---1st rd---Andre Dyson DB 2002---1st rd--Albert Haynesworth DT 2002---2nd rd--Tank Williams----DB 2004--2nd rd--Travis Laboy---DE 2004---2nd rd--Antwan Odom--DE 2004--3rd rd---Randy Starks---DT 2005--1st rd--Adam Jones--DB 2007--1sr rd--Michael Griffin--DB Nearly all the talent the first decade were with the team a good while(four years minimum) except Pacman Jones. Last ten years....... 2008--2nd rd---Jason Jones---DE 2009--2nd rd---Sen Derrick Marks--DT 2010--1st rd--Derrick Morgan--LB 2011--2nd rd--Akeem Ayers--LB 2011--3rd rd--Jurrell Casey--DT 2012--2nd rd--Zach Brown--LB 2016--2nd rd--Austin Johnson--DT 2016--3rd rd--Kevin Byard--S 2017--1st rd--Adoree Jackson--DB The last ten years the only players in Tennessee long term were Casey and Morgan hardly the basis for a defense to gel or dominate. Meanwhile the Texans have had a top ten defense for a while now but the thing to take notice of is that over the past couple seasons the Jaguars have quietly built themselves a top defense as well making the right choices in free agency and the draft.... In 2016 they drafted Myles Jack,Jalen Ramsey,Yannick Ngakouke all in the first three rounds and in free agency brought in Calais Campbell,AJ Bouye,Barry Church,Tashaun Gipson, etc. the year before they drafted Dante Fowler in the first round and in free agency nabbed Malik Jackson. Meanwhile they smartly drafted RB Leonard Fournette considered to be the best RB of the last several years coming out of college. No other way to put it but JRob needs to do some major work and overhaul the defense. Starting at safety Byard is a keeper but Cyprien is shit. Need some bodies here. At corner i like Jackson and Sims could use depth. At outside linebacker Morgan/Orakpo are ok but getting older we need some infusion of young talent. At inside linebacker let Williamson walk after the season,Woodyard/Brown are keepers. At defensive end Klug has lost a step need some help here. At defensive tackle Casey is still good as well as Daquan,do not think Sly Williams is anything special. Justafan
They need a fucking dynamic pass rusher. Either a dominant NT who can crush runs and collapse the pocket or a highly effective OLB who can replace Orakpo and consistently pressure the QB. It's not rocket science. Pressure the QB or watch him eat your secondary alive. MIKE75

They really need to look for pass rush help in free agency and draft along with a damn good defensive tackle and OLB like you said. titanruss, and Justafan
pat
Defense wins a lot of games for "bad" teams, and makes a lot of bad QBs look better. 4th quarter comebacks are all about the defense.
TeamRamrod
Should be a lot of good pass rushers in the draft next year. Hopefully we can add more than one.
Kirkster
Orakpo had a shocker last night, not for the first time this season. We need a speedy pass rusher very badly and we need another CB, SS and MLB, oh and a good DT. Yeah we need a lot. The offense is stacked so it should be a pretty obvious offseason for us. Atticus
You said this after the draft and people here dismissed that crazy idea. It's been so obvious defense has been neglected for over a decade. I agreed with you before, during, after the draft, during pre-season, and now 6 games in. It's so obvious. SMH. It baffles me. LAST YEAR, Mularkey said late in the year, "We can win with this defense." He was satisfied LAST YEAR before we "upgraded" the D with talent. He just doesn't get it. WE. HAVE. NO. DIFFERENCE MAKERS. ON. DEFENSE. Zero. Let's take the Woodyard play when he ran Brissett out of bounds short of the first down as an example. That's a good player making a good play. A GREAT player explodes into the backfield and blows Brissett up for a loss. See the difference? titanruss, and MIKE75 1

Nick Chubb EDIT: Bradley Chubb Harold Landry Dorance Armstrong Ogbonnia Okoronkwo Arden Key Sam Hubbard Clelin Ferrell Uchenna Nwosu Austin Bryant Josh Sweat James Hearns All could go in the first 3-4 rounds. There's a few other guys I'm forgetting right now too though. Edited October 17, 2017 by TeamRamrod27 Bluth
TWR
Hardly say JRob ignored the defense- We drafted a corner in this first round this year- we drafted 2 DLs in the second last year and a S in the 3rd. We just didn't hit on Dodd or Johnson which has hurt. We definitely need a NT, ILB, S, CB and have to get a pure pass rusher OLB to take this D to the next level. headhunter
If we dont pick a Dline or a LB in the first round i might shoot somebody. I would not sign Avery at all, hes awful in space and cant cover. Our Dline are just run stoppers outside of Casey. I like PO and Morgan but a 3rd guy is really needed to spell them. With that said im a big fan of the young guys in Adoree, Jayron, and Byard.
