I just can't believe the Skins would go with Colt McCoy with the way Cousins has played, that would be stunning.

Here is the problem. Cousins can sign a franchise tender, play out the season and be guaranteed to leave after 2017 without the Skins getting a damn thing. He's already said he's willing to do that.

The Skins might just have to get what they can now rather than lose him after one more year.

Cousins probably knows he's way better off getting with Shanahan long term.

Cousins could be tagged a 3rd year long enough for the team to trade him and get something for him if they don't agree on a long term contract.  They have 65 mil in CAP space in 2017.  Not sure about 2018 but seems they would have enough to pull it off.  So that isn't an issue.  Thinking he can pick his team is a pipe dream so if Shanahan wants him the 49ers will have to give up something.

The franchise tag is like 35 mill if they tag him again in 2018. Cousins could sign it and be guaranteed the 35 mill and the Skins would be on the hook for it.

I really think the tag number for QB is going to push all QB up in the draft from here on out.......a first round QB you have for 5 yrs for the price of the tag of one yr. Let that sink in..............this is why if you have no QB you better keep picking them until you get lucky

No, Cousins could sign it and still get traded like Matt Cassell was to the Chiefs.

Only if Cousins agrees to a new deal, unless you think KC would carry him at 35 mill

Not NE......Brady is 13 mil.....because he wants rings and not salary.

I'm sure Kraft sends him a yearly personal check of 7-10 mill of his own money tax free to help the pats with cap and roster room
