I'm not crazy about some of his appointments, but I don't have an issue in principle with appointing "rich" people to cabinet posts. The vast majority of cabinet appointments are "rich". There's always going to be the potential for a conflict of interest. There is a long history of cabinet members (and politicians) leveraging their position for financial gain. In both 2000 and 2004 they looked at a rich aristocrat, whose dad was head of the CIA and eventually became president, who summered in Martha's Vineyard every year and owned a major league baseball team and thought "now here's a real down to Earth fella, just like me that I could have a beer with."
