MIKE75
With the recent announcements we've heard on coaching hires the AFC conference was already stronger beforehand but now in my eyes it is the superior and much better in every way over the NFC. Vance Joseph in Denver,Sean McDermott in Buffalo as well as Doug Maronne down in Jax all hired within the last week or so. The Jets made a terrific hire last year with Todd Bowles and Cleveland with Hue Jackson all both men need is a franchise QB. Miami made the postseason in Adam Gase first year. Jack Del Rio in just his second year turned Oakland into playoff contenders again. AFC EAST you have New England who have dominated the conference and league nearly 20 years now,Miami on the rise again with Gase,Buffalo will soon contend with McDermott and Bowles a good coach trying to turn the Jets around. AFC NORTH you normally have three playoff contenders in this division alone. Pittsburgh make postseason nearly every year. Baltimore nearly every year with their top ten defense,Cincy before this year had six straight playoff trips and Cleveland with all their cap room and draft picks are gonna look great once they finish the makeover of the roster. AFC SOUTH you could argue that every team in this division could be postseason contenders next season. Houston has the best defense in the NFL,Tennessee were 9-7 and will improve,Indy has Andrew Luck one of the best QB in the game,Jax looked like a better team once Bradley was let go and they have a good roster already esp. defense. AFC WEST there are the defending SB champs Denver who just hired Vance Joseph,Oakland who went 12-4 and have one of the best young QB in the league in Carr,Kansas City were 12-4 as well and a threat to go far and finally the Chargers who already have Philip Rivers one of the best vet QB in the NFL and a threat if they can keep building the roster. New England,Miami and Buffalo three out of four teams out of the AFC EAST all went 3-1 vs. the NFC. Kansas City,Oakland and Denver three out of four from the AFC WEST were all 3-1 vs. the NFC. Tennessee and Indy were 3-1 and Houston were 2-2 vs. NFC out of the AFC SOUTH. Pittsburgh out of the AFC NORTH went 2-2 vs NFC. So lets look at the list below of the AFC teams that played best vs. NFC..... New England....3-1 vs NFC Miami.......3-1 vs NFC Buffalo......3-1 vs NFC Kansas City....3-1 vs NFC Oakland.....3-1 vs NFC Denver.......3-1 vs NFC Tennessee...3-1 vs NFC Indianapolis...3-1 vs NFC Lets look at a few games where these AFC teams completely annihilated and destroyed NFC opponents..... Indy 34 Minnesota 6---So bad that Indy led 27-0 at halftime and in AP first game back Minn rushed for just 34 yards. Tenn 45 Green Bay 27--Tennessee led 21-0 after just one quarter. Buffalo 45 San Fran 16---The Bills rushed over 300 yards and scored 21 points in 4th quarter. Denver 27 Tampa Bay 7---Broncos forced three turnovers, had five sacks, held Bucs under 3 yards per carry. Pittsburgh 38 Washington 16--Steelers held Skins to 55 yards running and Skins had 9 penalties. Cincy 32 Philadelphia 14---The Bengals led 29-0 late and held Eagles to 2 yards per carry forcing 3 turnovers. In the NFC you have the San Francisco 49ers who just went 2-14 and have no answers as to how they are gonna improve. Next you have the L.A. Rams who were 4-12 who traded a lot of picks for the right to draft Jared Goff who didnt play well in 2016. So we look at the 3-13 Chicago Bears who held on to Cutler way too long and are looking for a new QB. Carolina went 6-10 and were nothing like the team the year before. Philly were 7-9 and did their new QB Wentz no favors in his first season as he had to make do with a shabby WR and TE group. New Orleans 7-9 outside of having a great QB have a roster that needs a lot of work. Minnesota and Arizona two teams many predicted to be good fell way short going .500 and even though both have talented rosters they also have really good respected coaches yet both coaches Arians and Zimmer seem to have dysfunction. Arians seem to consistently throw players and staff under the bus and Zimmer had his defense literally tear up the gameplan and freelance which blew up in the players faces. 2017 NFL GAMES: AFC EAST plays NFC SOUTH AFC NORTH plays NFC NORTH AFC SOUTH plays NFC WEST AFC WEST plays NFC EAST

wiscotitansfan
It still only comes down to a single game and the recent history has shown no domination from one conference. I would take Pats and Steelers being competitive against the top NFC teams but IMO there is no competition on which side of the bracket has in general the better teams
Somedude
They should create a game where the best team of the AFC plays the best team of the NFC. I want to call it the Mega Cup!

Tex in a Can
I think the Jets and Browns have good head coaches. Their GMs, however...I'm not so sure.
scine09
The AFC was 32-31-1 against the NFC this season. I actually think the NFC is superior to the AFC. After New England you could make a good argument that teams 2-5 are all in the NFC.

THE_TITAN
We have always tended to play well vs NFC opposition I thought. Would be interesting to see the Titans' record on that actually.
