Reo, I know a couple people who have had lasik and they absolutely believe it was the best money they ever spent. Look into Care Credit. It's a program where they will loan you the money interest free for like 18 months. And of course, go somewhere really good and not to the place with the best deal.

Thanks. I'll have to look into it if I ever get a job where I can get some thing settled.

I think that's about where it started going downhill just a bit, but it was hardly noticeable until this most recent one... which was still worth the read, just not as much and you got the sense he was shuffling/stacking the deck before dealing... if that analogy makes any sense.

I think that's when I stopped reading them. Isn't that where he took that huge break? I need to pick them back up but just haven't had the time lately.

Read the first two books of the King Killer Chronicles. He's good at writing lore, bad at writing love, meanders needlessly, and lingers too long in the wrong places. The lore keeps it interestin

Has anyone in this thread mentioned the Bible?

So now I got these audiobooks and I have no idea when I'll listen to them. i guess the car. I usually like to blast the tunes when I drive though.

Try to get hired as a mailman, you'll have plenty of time to listen to audio books

I've scheduled a visit to get lasic twice and had to cancel both times but I fully intend to get it soon.

I was in Vegas and put on this guys glasses and saw how had my sight was far away. I couldn't ever remember being able to see that far away.

Read the first two books of the King Killer Chronicles.

He's good at writing lore, bad at writing love, meanders needlessly, and lingers too long in the wrong places. The lore keeps it interesting but it's not as good as I had hoped.

Pretty clear he's lady Lockless's nephew, right? Secret lineage trope.

Book 2 meanders, but after a re-read I decided it all had to be there.

The TV and movie rights to the series were sold to Lionsgate, which now owns Starz, so I'm hoping for en excellent TV show

I'll give them awhile and reread. I doubt I'll agree but I'm actually pretty convinced that books 4 & 5 are the best from GRRM on reread... so much depth and meat to them.

I'm interested in how they are going to wrap up the series in just one book. We don't yet know what he did to start the war/unrest/whatever. Presumably we will get all that. Is he also going to end it after telling his story?

The pace had been galacial. It's not realistic he'll wrap it up in a book. If he does, the current day stuff will be unresolved.

Looks like they are making the Dark Tower into a movie, Roland is played by Matthew McConaughey

Yeah, adapted and pared down a good but.... but I'm hopeful. The racial aspects of the series were always awkward. Elba playing the Gunslinger likely means they're setting that aside.
