TitanDuckFan
Fisher is pretty good, but he's a zone blocking specialist in the run game. He's quick but not a powerhouse like Bostad likes, but he does lead well when the play goes outside. I don't think Oregon ever ran a power scheme after CK got there. But until he puts on some weight and gains a little more power he's really not Bostad's kinda guy, just from a power standpoint. I can see why they weren't big on him. Clappin Cheeks
My god some of you need to relax, DGB will be fine he can be the dumbest guy on the team but whiz will utilize him in some manner to be extremely productive. He never actually had to learn a complicated playbook like this, just because he maybe is getting off to a slow start which we really dont know to be true and is just rumors cause whiz did this slowly integration into the lineup like with breaston and roberts in arz from what i have heard, doesnt mean he will bust... my god just relax a little. Titans279
Hasn't Jake Fisher done nothing so far? And Strong finally got catches. Two so far in his career. Come on, this is way too premature. Poutasi and DGB were both raw developmental picks. They have very high ceilings. Mariota was thought to be that way too, to outsiders. He's pretty much blown away expectations though. The first three picks were picks that will take multiple seasons to develop. How anyone thinks Whiz/Webster have any type of heat on their seats is beyond me...
Jd8
If you would like to bash DGB then Strong is not the guy to go with. Lol He has been inactive every week and they want him to play not because of injury like someone said no he has been because he's shown nothing in practice. The coaches even said he needs to step it up in PRACTICE before he will see time. He gets playing time tonight because injury and he really didn't do much like its being lead on that he had some great game. Take away the fluke hell Mary and he would have 1 catch for 11 yards and a TD. He was taken before our pick so your scenario wouldn't even have worked. Both guys obviously need more time before a decision can be made. And Fisher has not came out and made any name for himself either. You could make a case for a lot of guys over DGB especially some defensive rookies that have been playing really good football but Strong? He has done nothing. And I think Fisher will be a good pro but he's not playing at some high level right now I would have taken Collins at RT. Soxcat
jphardy
Never thought much of Strong. Still don't. Those TD's were poorly defended. I did want Fisher, though, but was/am happy with the DGB pick.

Anyway, this is only one game and I'm not sure why there is so much made of it.

Just funny how a poster makes a thread to jab at me for saying he would be really good before the draft, and literally a few days later he appears in his first game for 2 TD's no matter how he caught them. He did it all preseason too. And some can get all butthurt about DGB. Idc im rooting for him just like the rest. No way do I want him to bust. But ppl are way to attached to have a conversation with. nine
You don't pick 2nd round wide outs who can't start day 1. Apparently NFL teams disagree. Here's a list of every 2nd round WR drafted in the past three years. Very few day-one starters. Round Pick Overall Name Team School 2 5 37 Devin Smith Jets Ohio State 2 8 40 Dorial Green-Beckham Titans Missouri 2 9 41 Devin Funchess Panthers Michigan 2 7 39 Marqise Lee Jaguars USC 2 10 42 Jordan Matthews Eagles Vanderbilt 2 13 45 Paul Richardson Seahawks Colorado 2 21 53 Davante Adams Packers Fresno State 2 24 56 Cody Latimer Broncos Indiana 2 29 61 Allen Robinson Jaguars Penn State 2 31 63 Jarvis Landry Dolphins LSU 2 2 34 Justin Hunter Titans Tennessee 2 9 41 Robert Woods Bills USC 2 27 59 Aaron Dobson Patriots Marshall oldschool

It's the hardest position to transition to the NFL.

Mythos27
Strong will be a good player. I'm not sure why some dislike him as a player but I think he will be successful. That said, DGB just has a much higher ceiling and can already contribute in a way that Strong can't ; out-muscling mofos for the ball in the end zone. Eventually, Strong will be able to do this as well but right now I believe we made the right choice. I just wish we would have passed on Poutassi at 3, used that pick for a defensive playmaker (CB, S), and then drafted Daryl Williams in the 4th/5th. This isn't hindsight either; I and others were begging for Williams in the draft day chat. oldschool
Alcibiades
I like Strong. I like DGB. Last night didn't show that Strong is better, though, that's for sure. The first catch was hail mary. The second was blown coverage. He caught the ball, but whatever. He'll be a good player, IMO, but so will DGB, and I think DGB can be dominant. BTW, the Texans are being stupid with their QBs. You can't keep switching them out like that. Mallett looked furious, and I can't blame him! Bad for morale. kyle021
Well at least supposedly Julio Jones got a 15 (after being coached up on it by Saban too), AJ Green a 10, Kelvin Benjamin a 7/ DGB was listed at 20, only just behind A Cooper (21) and J Strong (22), so not sure straight up brains is the problem. Common sense, focus, drive could all lead to an inability to run the playbook properly, but I'd give him just a bit more time before I write him off based on that aspect. this is the rub. No one is writing off DGB. People can't see the fact I started this crap last night as an intentional knee jerk reaction. I love his potential. Could be a top 5. But man if you bring up his name in a negative way, some people react as if your talking about their mom. Stop. Deep breath. Realize the joke here. And 1 of them is in his 3rd year and still not a starter lol And DGB + Hunter were both VERY HIGH 2nd round picks too. OUCH. How can you expect a 1st round guy and not the 2nd pick or 8th pick in 2nd round to not start? Edited October 9, 2015 by SleepingTitan
