N/A
I suspect the way this came down, Whisenhunt realized that Locker could not pass and could not learn his system pretty early, but Webster insisted that Locker be the starter and the owner sided with Webster. Then even as bad as Locker looked after the Chiefs game (and even in that game, he did not look good - decent numbers yes but he was erratically throwing and simply lucky the receivers had good hands and great leaping ability in that game), Webster still had the owners blessing. But the power struggle between Whisenhunt and Webster literally took a wild turn when Locker went renegade in the Browns game. That episode of mutiny by Locker was the final straw for the owner to side with Whisenhunt. Whisenhunt benched Locker then and there and started Whitehurst the next two games to see if the season could be salvaged against the bad teams they faced, but because of the weak talent on this team (Webster's fault) it could not. So now Whisenhunt is turning to the future and seeing what the team has in its youth. The lack of talent will now be the central issue for the front office, and the source of that problem, Webster, will likely be replaced. Bobo
If you had an insider that told you all the juicy details, would there be a part of you that wanted to ignore him? I mean you love coming up with this stuff, right? When I click on one of your threads, I get a similar feeling as when I click the channel to a UFO "documentary". Cray-cray speculation! Nah mean? Popular Post oldschool
Nines, give it a rest. The more likely scenario is that Whisenhunt went to Webster and said look, Jake struggles from the pocket and is killing our offense. He also can't stay healthy which isn't fair to the team. Lets see what Zack has. Webster signs off and the rest is history. Don't make it out to be more than it is. N/A
Last link no workie 9 Nines! From some highlights of True Detective on being in tune with the universe - not sure why the link does not work. Basically: 1. YOU SEE PATTERNS THAT OTHERS DON'T. 2. YOU HAVE NEARLY PROPHETIC HUNCHES. 3. YOU HAVE AN INNATE MORAL COMPASS. 4. EVEN WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE CRAZY, YOU WERE RIGHT 5. YOU'RE DEEPLY IN-TUNE WITH PEOPLE 6. WHAT'S UNIMPORTANT FOR OTHERS ARE PUZZLE PIECES LAID OUT FOR YOU 7. YOU'RE NOT SURE IF YOU CHOSE YOUR PATH OR IF IT CHOSE YOU 8. "TIME IS A FLAT CIRCLE" 9. titanruss
my conspiracy theory is that Wiz never wanted locker and didnt put him in the best situation to succeed... Wiz always wanted "his guys" to start...hence locker calling him "not a man" and attempting to run the offense they way he thought he could run the best. mctitan53
Just review our drafts over the last 5 or 6 years. Very few stars and a lot of busts. The results aren't in his favor. Why do people think Ruston has been running the show for so long? He's been the GM for two years.
tgo
Webster and Wisenhunt have a good working relationship. Webster is the main reason Wisenhunt came here. And the Titans have only drafted a couple real busts over the last few years and overall have had some of the better drafts in the league over that span. The jury is still out on a couple picks. Tommy Smith earlier this year on Webster: "we're lucky to have him. He's a great football man and he's not going anywhere if I can help it." He then had a great draft this year, so that sentiment would only be reinforced. Your theory is dead wrong sir.
