titanfan24
What we have now is the after effects of picking between 10-20 for a decade and missing on 2 QBs. No transcendent stars, no elite playmakers, no great pass rusher, no QB. This sucks balls, but man, we need this 4-12 and for Webster to make the right decision without someone like Fisher or Bud meddling. I'd go all defense in this draft, but whatever the case, we need a Pro Bowl caliber player. I think Taylor might be one, and Kendall wasn't a bad 1st round pick......but we need to hit this one big. charleytolar
Watching GB dismantle the Panthers yesterday, my thoughts turned to jealousy at how the Packers got to transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers much as the Colts went from Manning to Luck. Maybe we can find a Rodgers without the Favre.
SuperFreak90
What makes anybody think that Webster will make the right pick at 4-10 ?
StephenIsLegend
There will be no QBs in this draft worthy of a high draft slot.
titanfan24
There will be no QBs in this draft worthy of a high draft slot. There is one.......problem is, he's got a sexual assault and a history of immaturity that would fill this thread up. That's why I say go defense all day in the next draft...........can't sell Jameis to the fanbase even though he kinda is a Whiz QB, Mariota and Hundley don't fit Whisenhunt at all, and this Connor Cook talk is just utter nonsense. He's a late 2nd round pick in my eyes at best.

Rogue
It's just flat out time to start Mett. He better be starting after the bye. I'm not buying the two guys in front of him give the team it's best shot to win. It's just typical company line jargon. Jax beat Cleveland yesterday, Bortles was 17-31, 159yds with 1td to 3 picks. It's hard to envision Mett doing much worse than that if given the shot to play. Teddy began the vikings game yesterday 3-11 with two picks, and they lost the game at the very end. You can win games with rookies at QB. It's like everyone has said, this team has a lot wrong with it. Just play the rookie. Zach will be playing, it's just a matter of when. At some point Whis is going to say we have to see what's on our roster this year and who we're keeping for next year. Maybe that's not what he says, but it's what we're going to do. cenj
I'd like a top 5 pick if it guarantees us a premier talent pass rusher that fits our new 3-4. I don't see a top 5 QB in Whisenhunt's mold, so that's out. But it's not like our average to slightly below average records over the last several years haven't afforded us the position to grab premier talent. We had the #10 pick and got a guard instead of a premier DT (of which there were 2 available); or we could have grabbed Fluker. And this isn't just 20/20 hindsight -- we could have picked about anyone else at a position of need and been better off. There were 2 good safeties (Vaccaro & Reid) multiple CBs, 2 DTs, OT -- all better players and positions we needed to improve. We got a great LT at #11 last year. We passed on Chandler Jones (who would now be our best pass-rusher) for a slot WR at pick #20 (BTW -- two guards were available after this pick, DeCastro and Zeitler, both better players than Warmack and at a better slot). More examples? We passed on L. David for Z. Brown, missing out on a pro-bowl LB. We traded a 3rd to move up and grab Hunter -- know what other WRs were picked right after our 3rd rounder that year? Keenan Allen and Terrance Williams. And of course we grabbed Locker and passed on guys like JJ Watt, Tyron Smith, Robert Quinn Ryan Kerrigan, Nate Solder, etc. Good players have been available, we just picked wrong. There is a reason teams like Oakland and Cleveland get top 5 picks all the time and still can't find a QB, while teams like the Colts manage to fill out their roster with guys like TY Hilton. N/A
Where the Titans might be drafting, and with all the needs the team has, it seems it would be a no-brainer to see if A QB is needed or not because QB trumps all. How Mettenberger does in a few games at end of year does not fully help. What the team needs to see, is 1) how he learns/adapts/responds to coaching, 2) how he prepares for various game scenarios (types of defenses, road vs home games etc.), 3) how he handles various points in games, etc. The more games, the more complete picture the team gets. Mettenberger is not going to be good or even average in everything off the bat, so the more games, the better picture the team can have on whether he is the future or not, and the team should be doing everything to get as complete a picture as it can, because it will have a very important and costly decision to make if it is picking in the top 5 next draft and/or with free agents. Instead of doing that at a 2-5 record, a team trying to win games with QBs it knows are not the future is bad team management, and if it is 2-6 at the bye then it is enter incompetent territory because I think any team that were in the same QB and record scenario would see what it had in its recent QB draft pick.
