T-RAC
I guess we all are. tells PK on 104.5: "We’re putting Kendall (Wright) and Nate (Washington) and Justin (Hunter) in different spots, so when you do that you have to name the formations differently and it’s much harder to get a mental picture of the actual play when you’re doing those mental gymnastics. " “On top of that, he’s got to be able to call the play, understand the protections, be ready to change it. So you don’t expect him to have great command of it, but he’s really working at it and doing a nice job.” Jake will get more more leeway to change plays at the line, it seems. I don't think Munch let him do that.
Popular Post TitansGuru
Good. I think he's been here long enough that you have to put normal QB stuff on him. Give him a chance to surprise you. Face, IowaOiler, titanruss, and 2 others
ctm
There's a little bit more to this story: “This is probably, for a quarterback, the toughest time of the year,” Whisenhunt said in a Monday interview with my radio show, The Midday 180 in Nashville. “Really there is no set plan for what we are calling things from. In a weekly game-plan situation you have X number of plays and you know the formations. When you get them on Monday night and start working on them on Tuesday, by Wednesday you have a good idea, we’re running a certain play, what formation it’s going to be run from. “In this situation, we’re switching guys. We’re putting Kendall (Wright) and Nate (Washington) and Justin (Hunter) in different spots, so when you do that you have to name the formations differently and it’s much harder to get a mental picture of the actual play when you’re doing those mental gymnastics. “On top of that, he’s got to be able to call the play, understand the protections, be ready to change it. So you don’t expect him to have great command of it, but he’s really working at it and doing a nice job.” http://espn.go.com/blog/tennessee-titans

luvyablue256
Why is this a concern in year 4? Number9
ctm
The point of Whiz's comment was that this is a difficult time for a QB because he has no game plan and doesn't know the defensive tendencies. That changes during the regular season. reo, and Alcibiades
Alcibiades
Right. The time of year is difficult, not the time in Jake's career.
luvyablue256
He's every bit as dumb as VY was. Too bad nobody will ever admit that because he seems like the type of person you'd have a beer with. Number9, and Twig

Not much to add other than "yep". He gets a good wrap because unlike VY he is a hard worker. OILERMAN
Locker comes off as a dumb likeable jock. You can still win with that. VY is mentally retarded, you can't win with that. TitansGuru, TitanJoe, IsntLifeFunny, and 1 other
luvyablue256
While Jake might not be a brainiac he is a good 100 IQ points ahead of VY. And you're comfortable with that?
