  1. Don't just like my post @begooode...I actually want to read it! Edit: Ah, I see you fixed it, lol.
  2. I'm not high on Williams...but to be fair to him, he abused many college CBs who are expected to be playing on Sundays.
  3. Yeah, if we were going to make a play for both, Howard at #5 and McCaffrey at #18 would probably how we'd have to play it. I did see someone ask Brugler today about McCaffrey dropping out of the 1st. He basically guaranteed McCaffrey will go in the top 20 picks. The WRs slipping would obviously be great, but I think there are too many possibilities between 6 and 18.
  4. I can honestly get on board with any of them. If I had to rate them - for our team - in terms of what I would do as a GM, it would probably go: 1) Davis, 2) Howard, 3) Ross, 4) McCaffrey, and 5) Williams. If Ross didn't have the injury history, I'd definitely move him to #2...maybe even #1. I like Howard...but we need our Julio Jones more than we need Tony Gonzalez. We already have one of the best TEs in the game in Delanie. I would say our WR corps is serviceable at best.
  5. Given our FA period, I think it's pretty much a given the Titans will draft offense with at least one of the two 1st round picks, if not both. Much of the debate has focused on these five players: OJ Howard, Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross, and Christian McCaffrey. I know we all have our favorites, but if we step back and try to be completely objective, I actually think they all have a compelling case. OJ Howard- Seemingly a perfect fit for the offense. Physically, we know he's a freak of nature and has what you can't coach. Can step-in as blocking TE right away and eventually take over for Delanie. He's a physical specimen and you can create mismatches using he and Delanie in tandem. Corey Davis- Superb route runner w/ good speed. Has the potential to be a true #1 WR. Can play in the slot our outside. Willing blocker and a great off the field guy. Fits the Robinson mold for a player perfectly. In the past, Mularkey has loved to have that #1 WR he can feed targets to and Davis can be that guy. Mike Williams- An amazing redzone weapon. He could be to Mariota what Mike Evans is to Jameis Winston. He played against the best competition and consistently performed. Had a huge game on the national stage against an NFL talent in Marlon Humphrey. I think he's the least likely of this group to be "our guy" and I've made my thoughts about how he fits on this team very well known, but there's no denying his talent and ability to go up and get it. John Ross- Speed, speed, speed. This guy has CJ's breakaway speed, but is a complete WR as well. Without the injury history, he could very well be the runaway favorite for the Titans. What makes Ross even more intriguing as an option for the Titans is we know they're looking for speed. They already attempted to trade for Brandin Cooks and who is Ross most often compared to? Brandin Cooks. Christian McCaffrey- Admittedly, McAffrey would be somewhat of a darkhorse pick for the Titans. I'm not sure he has a true position, but he's a guy who undoubtedly has the physical ability and makes plays with the ball in his hands. The Titans could use him right away in the slot and the return game. I need to read more about him to see how precise he is as a route runner because he would absolutely have to be heavily involved at the WR position with us to make the pick worth it. For more of a secondary benefit, he could also be used as RB insurance for Murray and Henry, should one of them go down. When Murray eventually retires or moves on, we'd still have a terrific 1-2 punch in McCaffrey and Henry. We would love to sit here and say all of them will go on to have great careers. In reality though, we know that isn't likely. So which one of these guys do you think has the best chance to help us in 2017? Is your answer the same if we stretch that question to encompass the long-term? Who do you like best for our current team and why? Are any of them worth the #5 pick? I know most of us would probably be fine with any of them at #18, but there's a real chance they're all off the board by 18.
  6. Sidney Jones says he'll be ready to play this year.
  7. He also wasn't drafted until the 3rd. Not sure he goes top 10, but I don't think there's any way he makes it to 18 now. In fact, Bucky Brooks' latest mock has OJ Howard, Mike Williams, Corey Davis, and John Ross all going between 6 and 18. If we love any of those guys, we may have to take them at 5 or after a small trade down. There's a real chance they could all go before we get back on the clock at #18.
  8. Interesting. Not the most positive of sentiments... For me personally, the Williams signing doesn't excite me in the least. Cyrprien is fine, but I would have rather they drafted a guy like Adams. Really like Ryan, but I think he's a #2. The one thing I will say is I'm not sure I agree with the exec. One could argue Cyprien and Williams will actually perform better in a scheme more suited to their talents, which would also speak to why the Jags/Broncos let them leave. Right. I think (hope?) we plan to put them in more positions to do what they do best.
  9. Reuben Foster is off the draft board of a team with a top 15 pick.
  10. Some of them are related to injury (ex. Sidney Jones), but I'm not sure what he saw at the combine from Peppers to move him above Adams and Hooker.
  11. To eventually take over for Morgan and/or Orakpo? Even with Dodd still there?
  12. For me at least, I'm not hung up on his positional value so much as I am his value relative to others in the draft. How does his value compare to Lattimore, Foster, Adams, Allen, Davis, Ross, etc.?
  13. I don't know how much we can really glean from it, but I think we should keep in mind Mularkey's words about drafting TE when asked at the combine. Titans tight end Delanie Walker is coming off another Pro Bowl season, but he’s 32. Tight end Anthony Fasano, who is also 32, has an expiring contract. The Titans also have Phillip Supernaw and Jace Amaro, both in their mid-20s, under contract. Mularkey was asked about the importance of getting younger at the tight end position this offseason. This year’s draft is loaded with some pretty talented tight ends. “If you go in with that thought process, just trying to get younger, then you’re maybe reaching,’’ Mularkey said. “Our tight end position has been very productive. It was again last year. We’re happy with our current roster, the way it is with our guys. We’re looking at all positions. You know that. And that’s just another one we’re looking at. If it happens that way, it happens that way.” http://www.titansonline.com/news/article-4/Six-Hot-Topics-from-Coach-Mike-Mularkey-at-NFL-Combine/e49d62ab-c134-45a1-83a6-bd405bb35b59 Of course an obvious counter to what he said is the roster has changed since then, with us losing Fasano.
  14. Honestly, I agree with this. I'm kind of shocked we didn't add a FA WR or TE. It didn't even have to be a big money WR, but it is weird they've done absolutely nothing there in FA. No, I'm not counting Weems.
  15. Given the depth at TE, I do think #5 is too early for Howard. I'd much rather them go Davis or even Ross if they're going to take an offensive player at #5. There are some really good TEs to be had after Howard and Njoku.
  16. FA definitely felt different this year.
  17. The point is that Howard isn't just rising here on TR. He's rising pretty much everywhere you look.
