  1. Ideally, I'd like to see Locker progress while showing a lot of potential for more growth, then during the draft, the Titans pull a block buster trade and go up and get Clowney.
  2. I don't really think it would help them for the upcoming season, nor that it would help any team that does the show. I stated before that it could give the players a sense of accountability that they have to perform up to expectations, but that's not a definite. I just don't personally see distraction as a good enough reason to not do the show. Like I said, these are professional athletes, they've got plenty of things to distract them. Being on a reality show just might keep them from doing something stupid otherwise. At the end of the day, it's not likely the Titans do the show to start with, but it'd be fun to watch if they did it.
  3. These are excellent points. The thing to remember is that Hard Knocks is a reality show. I'm sure the producers could edit enough drama into a Pats training camp, but mostly, it'd be like watching paint dry. They have to be able to sell the show.
  4. I'd say it's reasonable for teams to turn down doing the show during a lockout. As for the gap, that's a possibility, but one we don't know for sure. I can't imagine every single "loser" team would turn down doing the show over a span of 5 seasons simply because it was a distraction or that because the Cowboys went 5-11; then suddenly "loser" teams are willing to participate for nearly 6 straight seasons if not for the lockout. But I'm not going to make an assumption either way. The fact of the matter is, the "good" teams that don't do the show aren't good because they don't do the show, they're already a well ran organization that happens to choose not to do the show for their own reasons.
  5. Nice straw man. You seem to be good at using fallacious arguments. Did I say that HBO went to Kansas City or Cincinnati 1st? Nope, sure didn't. I asked you if those teams you deem successful had ever officially turned down being on the show. I didn't ask you because I knew better. Hell, I even stated that I didn't know for sure. It was only after you so condescendingly said "OF COURSE XYZ teams turned down the show", that I responded asking you for proof. It's become quite obvious that you're unable to have a friendly discussion when someone asks you to dig a little deeper into your reasoning, never mind that I wasn't even suggesting you were right or wrong, simply asking you to elaborate as to help you prove your own point, but it appears you'd rather make an ass of yourself. So knock yourself out!
  6. lol, Yeah, I realize that it would have no bearing on us being successful.
  7. I use Firefox and occasionally get an SQL error, but the site usually comes back up after a refresh or two.
  8. As I stated before, I've never watched the show, so I don't know that. I can't seem to find any information as to why there were no teams covered from 2003 - 2006, nothing to suggest that they had no takers. 2011 wasn't covered because of the lockout. Since I can't use my brain to find a legitimate reason, could you be so kind as to find it for me?
  9. I think this has been the best reason as to why the Titans shouldn't do the show. Personally, I don't care if they do the show or not. If they did it, I'd certainly watch it, but if not, no big deal either way.
  10. What's the greatest fear that this will cause? Distraction? These are professional athletes after all. They're already celebrities that could easily get distracted by many other things, such as drunk driving, fighting, drugs, etc. Having a camera crew on some of these guys might be a good thing for them. They may not want the whole world knowing they pay for sex or dress in women's underwear. (Exaggerated example, of course)
  11. I believe there are two sides to that coin, personally. Doing the show could be a distraction for the team. But aren't there already media members & camera crews at each teams training camps? Is a few more going to cause a complete meltdown? Or doing the show could give the team a sense of accountability. The whole nation is watching them, they may feel they have to step their game up to show everyone they are for real about winning.
  12. I highly doubt the Titans would take a huge hit in the credibility department of being a successful organization if they did a show like Hard Knocks. How many other fans/media/teams do you think view the Titans as the model for building a winning franchise?
  13. Have those teams turned down an opportunity to do the show? I'm unsure if they have.
  14. Jacksonville was on Inside Training Camp, a show similar to Hard Knocks.
  15. The show has only been on for 7 seasons. Obviously not enough time for every successful team to have been on the show. I'd imagine certain teams, like the Pats, probably wouldn't do the show, but that's probably more to do with Belichick than anything. Do you feel that if the Titans do the show it will give the public persona that the Titans aren't a successful organization or that the Titans would do poorly the following season because of it?
  16. Why not though? What harm do you believe it will cause?
  17. Well personally, I've never watched Hard Knocks, but if I had to make an assumption, I would say that the show makes viewers feel as though X team has the chemistry, talent & coaching ability to take them deep into the playoffs and said team is most likely expected to do well that season. I'd liken it to the media, ESPN for example, hyping up a draft prospect, then everyone expecting them to be the next HOF player but they end up a bust. The truth is 20 teams fail at making the playoffs every season. There's a very high chance that every team that ends up on Hard Knocks will fail the following season, but not because they did the show.
  18. You should provide a reason, otherwise your point can be viewed as nothing other than a No true Scotsman fallacy.
  19. Correlation does not imply causation. As for those that are against this because our players might "act out", then you better hope we don't make it to the Super Bowl anytime soon if they couldn't handle the extra cameras & attention in their face from Hard Knocks. Super Bowl week would be a nightmare for them. Personally, I'd enjoy seeing this as it allows the average fan to see what goes on in the day to day world of the Titans. With some of us wanting to be inside the Titans war room during the draft, it should seem like this would be enjoyable as well.
  20. I think his problem in this picture is that he is trying too hard to smile and isn't smiling naturally. His eye's give away that he isn't really smiling.
