  1. Over the years, I have seen voters, such as Peter King, break down how the vote usually goes for wide receivers.  They say that they really focus on if that receiver was a top 3 WR in the league and, if so, for how long.  So, using that benchmark, I can see how Johnson would get in ahead of Wayne or Holt.  They used that type of criteria for years to keep Andre Reed and Art Monk out.

Sean Payton reportedly likes to drink, he was likely drunk when he said that

Also it will come back on him if Wilson continues to suck and the Broncos offense sucks

I remember a story about how he got so shit-faced after the Saints Super Bowl win that he intended to just blow off the next morning presser.  As the story went, ownership called him and said "You cannot be the first head coach to ever skip the next day press conference."  It may have been the America's Game episode on that Super Bowl where I saw that?

  3. I wouldn't hate it.  I think his game translates well to the next level.  He seems to make reads very quickly and then gets rid of the ball super fast.  It's obviously a little bit of a reach, but I think he has more potential than Jake Locker  did when we drafted him with pick #11.

  4. Imagine if the Jags actually beat the Colts on Sunday.  And then Imagine, with no collusion occurring, the game actually being played to a tie.  It would become the most speculated about, conspiracy theory charged situation in NFL history.  It would dwarf the Suck for Luck accusations.  Few fans would ever believe that the tie was legitimate.

I don't agree with the student debt forgiveness, but a lot of people do.  This will come back on Biden hard.  That said, where else do they have to turn?  Republicans aren't going to do it.  Voting for candidates that support it will likely lead to a failed election unless they have other policies that appeal to the masses.

I don't see a path forward to student debt forgiveness.  I do see a path to confront high education costs, in whatever means it manifests itself.  But I think student debt forgiveness is a dead end and politically detrimental.

I think it could lead to proponents of student debt forgiveness, who are not overly political, to become apathetic and not vote at all.

  6. I don't suppose there is any chance that VY is a competent professional who has found his post-playing niche in the realm of athletic administration (kind of like Lynn Swann, or Jim Hart)?  I guess not, or they'd have to pay him even more $$.

Ben/Eli are likely first balloters with their pair of rings each.

I think Rivers gets in but has to wait a little.

There is no way Eli gets in on the first ballot.  He may eventually get in because the media members decide the matter and they love his family.  In reality he is an average to mediocre player for his career who happened to win two Super Bowls.  Granted his play was stellar leading up to and during the two Super Bowl victories.  The only thing that really separates him from Jim Plunkett, who also has two Super Bowl victories, is his family name.

  8. I read somewhere that the ballots were distributed early in the season and the players had until the last week of the regular season to turn them in.  This pretty much explains why Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson are ranked ahead of Mahomes.  Also, if the ballots would have been collected after the playoffs Henry would have likely been ranked even higher, given those three consecutive games with 180+ rushing yards.

This is the dumbest, most dangerous idea that the POS has ever had.  The disinfectant suggestion pales in comparison.  I'm not really sure why this hasn't picked up much steam from the media, yet?  I hope my Governor (Lee) has a little bit of a mind of his own and a spine, but I can't say I am optimistic.  Regardless, my children will not be participating in such a dangerous farce if it comes to that.

  10. People want to act like the Electoral College is a fair way to protect rural America from being marginalized, but in reality what it does is marginalize urban America.  Why should the rural votes be more important than urban votes?  If the system were weighted evenly then the candidate with the most votes would win each presidential election.  I mean, as difficult as it is to question the wisdom of the framers of the constitution (oh wait, they also came up with the 3/5 rule?), doesn't any type of election which is designed so that the leading vote getter may not be the winner seem a little flawed?  Oh, I know.  Why don't they change the Electoral College where each state is not "winner take all," but the delgates are awarded according to the percentage of votes each candidate gets?
